North Yorkshire boxer Paul Ingle has been moved to a rehabilitation unit near his Scarborough home, six weeks after undergoing life-saving surgery to remove a blood clot on the brain.
The featherweight fighter has made good progress following his near-fatal IBF world title defence at Sheffield Arena on December 16 against South African Mbulelo Botile.
He has been in Sheffield's Royal Hallamshire Hospital ever since the fateful fight, most of that time in intensive care, but a spokesman there said he has continued on the road to recovery. Although he remains naturally tired, Ingle, who was moved to a normal ward last week, is walking with assistance and can speak clearly.
