City of York I gained a valuable point from their NCHL premier division game with Timperley.
However, after coming back to equalise, York will be disappointed that after late pressure and five yellow cards for the Cheshiremen, they did not win the game.
Both teams began well with Timperley looking better in attack and forcing several short corners.
But York's defence remained solid with 'keeper James Riley in splendid form.
York eventually countered and from one short corner, Rob Harris was denied by a superb save.
The opening ten minutes of the second half saw York enjoy all the possession but they could not turn it into goals.
Losing one player for a yellow card offence did not help York's cause and Timperley, despite also losing a player to the sin-bin, took advantage of the greater space to open the scoring.
With 15 minutes to go, both teams were back at full strength. But when Timperley became depleted again, York took control, winning a series of short corners. From one, the ball was switched to the right and put away by Kyle Hogg.
More visiting players were sin-binned as the clock ticked down but York couldn't grab a winner.
Thanks to late cry-offs and work commitments, City of York II started with only ten players at Halifax I, but sticking to a rigid gzame-plan they made a match of it before losing 2-1 in the last minute.
York created the better first-half chances, strikers Colin Moore and Chris Allerton causing the hosts problems. From a short corner Allerton put York ahead with a dipping shot.
However, Halifax equalised almost immediately and went on to draw a series of saves from Simon Burnett.
York were cruelly hit by a sucker punch in the final 30 seconds, Halifax scoring a scrappy winner.
City of York III reversed the 2-1 scoreline when Halifax II came to visit.
Matt Todd and Alex Fletcher combined to set up Jason Bemrose to score an early opener.
After more home pressure York had to wait to ten minutes before half-time to net again through Mark Little.
York became complacent after the break and Halifax took advantage to pull one back, but they never threatened an equaliser.
An excellent display underpinned City of York IV's 3-0 win at Normanby Park II.
Ben Dutton scored their first from a well-worked short corner before Park missed their only chance of the game.
Early in the second half, Ian Wiggins doubled the lead after good play by David Lancaster before Dutton notched his second.
York's man of the match was Lawrie Skinner, who snuffed out Normanby's dangerman.
City of York V, who were pleased with a draw last time they played West Yorkshire Police I, were even happier this time as they won 2-0 away.
Roz Ramli was the hero at one end, scoring in either half, while young 'keeper Ashley Watson was the star at the other, saving a penalty stroke in the final quarter.
York had refused to be intimidated by the Police's greater physical presence and put on a good team display, inspired by Nigel Herd.
City of York VIII went second in YCHL division ten with a 3-1 defeat of Sheffield Bankers X.
City, with Roger Andrews playing well in defence, were the better team but Bankers took the lead.
However, Malc Dutton soon equalised from Andy Dent's cross and Richard Tanner-Smith rounded the 'keeper to score with a reverse stick.
Bankers missed a good chance before Dutton made it safe with the third goal late on.
