The Duke of Gloucester is to visit a North Yorkshire market town to open a new St John Ambulance training centre.
The Duke will be in Thirsk on Tuesday, March 20, to cut the ribbon at the new St John Ambulance North Yorkshire and Teesside Training Centre of Excellence. While at the centre, he will see at first hand an adult and cadet first-aid demonstration.
The Duke will also oversee the commemoration of a training room in memory of Lady Serena James, who died in October last year and who was a supporter of St John Ambulance.
