Vicky Winters scored a hat-trick as Acomb Ladies shattered promotion-chasing Slazengers' unbeaten Yorkshire League division one record with a 5-3 victory.
Acomb took an early lead on a heavy pitch when Megan Horlock swept home a short corner.
Slazengers equalised from a quick counter attack and soon added another goal.
It was even more bleak for Acomb when, after a penalty flick was saved, Slazengers scored a third before the end of the half.
Half-time positional changes helped Acomb turn the tables.
They pulled a goal back through Danielle Courtine, then levelled through Winters.
Another short corner and the same routine undid Slazengers again as Winters swept the ball into the net.
Shortly after Winters completed her hat-trick from another short-corner.
City of York Ladies warmed up for the resumption of the North League programme with wins in both their weekend friendlies.
A hat-trick by Sally Sleightholme helped York to a 5-1 win at Kirkby Stephen.
Sleightholme scored from Lorraine Pearey's cross, Paula Clough soon adding a second against her former club.
Kirkby pulled a goal back just before the break but York kept possession well to dominate the second-half and were rewarded with a goal from Sarah Harrison and two more from Sleightholme.
Sleightholme was again on target with both goals in the 2-1 home win over Nelson.
Each of York's goals came from penalty corners.
Meanwhile, in division two of the Yorkshire League, York II lost 3-2 at home to Boston Spa who went two goals ahead before Dawn Hopkins scored for York.
The visitors then regained their two-goal margin. While Hopkins replied, an equaliser proved elusive.
In division seven, Halifax and Calder IV failed to raise a team to play York III.
Tadcaster Ladies were held 0-0 in division four by Studley Royal, whose goalkeeper made a great save from a penalty flick.
Tadcaster Ladies II were beaten 4-0 by Sheffield IV in division seven.

Whitby started the goal flood with a 10th minute penalty flick but Olympics fought back with a goal from Sam Hampshire.
Whitby hit back to lead 3-1 but Olympics finished with a flourish, Hampshire completing her hat-trick and Angela McConnell also scoring.
