Acomb I kept pace with the Yorkshire League division one leaders after a 3-1 win over Boston Spa.
A fine solo run by Barry Whitfield set up Nick Linfoot's equaliser and then they took the lead with a predator's goal from Adrian Nye just before half-time.
Acomb looked more comfortable after the break and scored a third from a quick break when Dave Richardson had a shot which was stopped on the line, Peter Hilton despatching the penalty flick.
Boston rallied when Acomb were temporarily reduced to ten men. But 'keeper Mike Brown and Stuart Bater made last-ditch saves and tackles.
Brown also pulled off a great penalty save after Boston Spa were awarded a penalty stroke.
Tadcaster Magnets crashed 4-0 at home to runaway YL division five leaders Sheffield University Bankers.
Tad should have had a couple of goals in the first ten minutes but they cracked just before the interval. Comeback hopes were dashed when defender Phil Wilson was sent off.
Tadcaster II led twice through Richard Holmes and Rob Hill against Lincoln Imps III.
But they missed a host of chances, Imps countering to win 4-2 and dent Tadcaster's title chances.
