A woman was recovering in hospital today after falling from a flyover on to the A64.
The unnamed 42-year-old woman suffered leg injuries but escaped without life-threatening injuries when she plunged from the flyover which carries the Helmsley road over the A64, just a mile outside Malton.
The woman was taken to York District Hospital after the accident. Traffic was disrupted for about half an hour while emergency services attended.
Sgt Dave Cooper, of Malton Police, said: "We have launched an investigation into the circumstances surround this incident. I cannot say any more than that at this stage."
