Police and council staff were called to Walmgate Bar, York, this afternoon after this lorry got stuck under its arch.
The white 7.5-tonne delivery van cleared the outside arch of the barbican, but became wedged under the inner part of the landmark as the driver tried to enter the city at lunchtime.
Traffic was diverted along Foss Islands Road and Fulford Road as efforts were made to free the vehicle. Police deflated the cab tyres as part of the attempt to free the lorry and it was finally released after about 30 minutes. The bar suffered only minor scratches.
The lorry is the latest in a string of vehicles to become trapped at the bar.
