YORK boxer Jamie Warters' return to the ring has been delayed by up to another month, writes Dave Stanford.
The Jorvik Warrior had been pencilled in for a six-round light-heavyweight non-title fight against an unnamed opponent in Hull on February 5.
The fight was set to serve on the undercard of the clash between Glasgow's Scott Harrison and Ritchie Wenton for the vacant British and Commonwealth featherweight championship.
However, while Warters has now been pulled from the Hull bill following a mix-up by the promoter his patience could be rewarded with a fight on an even bigger stage.
It is understood Warters is now being lined-up for a fight on the undercard of the light-heavyweight world title eliminator between Clinton Woods and America's Michael Nunn in Sheffield on March 20 instead.
