REGULARS and friends at the Buckles Inn in Bilbrough clubbed together to raise nearly £650 for children at a York school.
The money was raised for the support centre at Carr Infant School, which is attended by children aged five to seven from across the city.
Children were invited for a party meal at the Buckles Inn, where their teacher Pamela Kemp was presented with a cheque for £495 and a television-video.
Headteacher Ann McKeown said: "Everyone at the Buckles was very generous - many of their suppliers offered prizes for the raffle.
"The children had a great party lunch with party games."
She said the money would be used to buy equipment for the children and part of it would pay for a new carpet for the quiet area in their classroom.
