We want Mel C to perform, say hundreds of fans disappointed that 'Sporty Spice' has cancelled her sell-out York gig because of throat problems. Around 1,800 tickets had been sold to next Wednesday's performance.
The Spice Girls star has been forced by doctors to postpone her UK tour until May because of the illness.
A statement from her regional publicist said: "Melanie C regrets to announce that, as a result of throat problems and having taken doctors' advice, she has been forced to postpone her forthcoming tour of the UK and Ireland.
"Promoters aim to re-schedule the dates in May. Tickets for cancelled dates will be valid for the re-scheduled concerts, which will be announced as soon as they are confirmed."
The star added: "I was really looking forward to the tour.
"I am sorry to have disappointed my fans but I have to follow doctor's orders.
"I am looking forward to touring in May."
One disappointed fan, Fiona Broomfield, from Sherburn-in-Elmet, said: "I am absolutely gutted. I have been looking forward to this concert. May is not going to be soon enough.
"But if she is ill, she's ill."
