Thirty seconds of all the right angles and breaks will pocket someone a cool £500 in Selby tomorrow night.
That's when York-based Walmgate Property Services will put up the cash prize for anyone who can shatter a world record at their new premises, formerly the Double Triangle Club, now the Bermuda Triangle Club.
For it is in the environs of the club in the town's New Church Terrace that a world record was established when cue-wielding ace Paul Sullivan cleared the pool table in a top of the pots record time of 31.7 seconds - since recognised as a world best mark and acknowledged as such in the acclaimed Guinness Book of Records.
To celebrate the new take-over of the club Colin Cain, of Walmgate Property Services, and also Walmgate Removals, has offered £500 for any player who can overhaul Sullivan's record. And just to ensure the challenge is properly undertaken Sullivan will be the judge.
Enthused Cain: "When we bought the club we found out that it had this world record, so we thought the best way to celebrate us taking over would be to see if anyone can break it.
"It's open to any players to come along tomorrow night and have a go."
