THE Evening Press has an outstanding features team, notably its distinguished film critic, Charles Hutchinson. His work must have contributed to the successful development of audiences first for York Film Theatre and, more recently, for City Screen, York.
How then can your reporting team (January 13) describe City Screen's highly imaginative offering as "a mixture of obscure independent films and old blockbusters"?
This idiotic comment undermines all the good work your paper has done to support the arts in the city in recent years; and it devalues the 'quality of life' arguments which underpin York's developing economy.
