Kenny Temple reached a milestone in his football career when he played his 500th senior league and cup game for his village side, Aislaby United.
He started playing for them when he was 16 in season 1984-85 and he went on to score 16 goals for them that term. His career total now stands at 256 goals, his best season being 1995-96 when he scored 34.
His first game for the club, on September 4, 1984, was a 1-1 draw against Slingsby. In his second game, the following week, Temple scored a hat-trick in a 14-1 win over Kirkdale United. And in his 500 games he has never been cautioned or sent off.
But his remarkable run was ill-rewarded in his 500th game as Aislaby went down 1-0 at home to Sinnington.
The lone marksman was Sinnington skipper Stuart Gordon, whose first-half penalty hoisted the visitors to sixth in division one of the Camerons Brewery-sponsored Beckett League.
In division two, Thirsk-based Old Red House gained their first win of the season, beating visitors Ryedale Sports Club Reserves 5-2 to move off the bottom of the table.
Chris James scored a hat-trick as Rosedale beat Kirkdale United 6-4 in the opening round of the Gordon Harrison Memorial Trophy.
