Adrian Nye got Acomb back on the winning track with the only goal of the game against Scarborough In Yorshire League One.
Acomb started well and pinned Scarborough in there own half with Nye and Nick Linfoot causing all kinds of trouble for the Seasiders' defence.
Stuart Baxter came close to breaking the deadlock in the second half and it was a Baxter effort that led to the goal. His strike was saved but the follow up was put in, by Nye.
Acomb created other chances and Nick Linfoot struck the post from a quick Acomb attack.
Acomb III ran riot, thrashing Wakefield 7-0 in Yorkshire Five with Ian Roberton scoring a hat-trick.
Table-topping Acomb took the lead soon after the start with good quick passing resulting in Roberton scoring. Wakefield pressed for the equaliser but the Acomb defence held firm. Just on the stroke of half -time Roberton doubled his tally with a well struck shot on the turn to give Acomb a 2-0 interval lead.
Acomb then hit peak form as they rattled in five more goals. Roberton scored his third, Andy Smith grabbed two goals but saw a hat-trick chance go begging when he missed a penalty flick.
Mathew Gray and Andy Lovett also got on the score sheet as Acomb cruised to victory.
