A depleted Heworth Amateur Rugby League Club's under-12 team put up a brave show against Hunslet Parkside in the second replay of their Yorkshire League Cup tie before going down 24-18.
Heworth had only 14 players to choose from as illness and injury hit the squad, and with too many key players missing - with more knocks picked up during the game - failed to stamp any authority on the encounter.
Man of the match Alex Redhead was excellent in attack and defence, notching one of Heworth's four tries. Dave Richmond also had a good game, scoring twice, with Danny Allan also going over and Ben Potter adding a goal.
