NOW we are one - and now we have won...What's more we are the world's best!
That is the boast of staff of Fitness First in Clifton Moor which has just earned the accolade of the best of all its 140 clubs throughout the planet.
And it means a double celebration at York Racecourse next Saturday when the club marks its first anniversary.
Judges were impressed with the cleanliness and efficiency of the premises' two gyms, its crche facilities and social events laid on for its 3,200 members.
Clutching the winning trophy Club of the Year, general manager Rachel Armstrong said: "I'm not surprised. We have a wonderful staff, wonderful members and this is a clean and happy club."
Marcus Lee, the club's sales manager, said: "Our growth in popularity has been phenomenal, especially on the corporate side. We work closely with the likes of Nestle, Norwich Union, Kraft Foods, the National Health Service and the police."
