How can I find a reflexologist?
Q: I would like to have reflexology treatment but am unsure how to find a reputable practitioner in my area. Can you advise me how I go about finding one?
A: At the moment there are no laws governing who can set up in practice in complementary medicine. It is important, therefore, to find out about the qualifications of the practitioner before undergoing any treatment by them. One way to find a reputable reflexologist is to contact the Association of Reflexologists (01989 567 667). Only practitioners who have a recognised qualification are allowed to join this organisation. The Guild of Complementary Practitioners (0118 973 5767) or the British Complementary Medicine Association (01242 519911) also have referral registers and will be able to give you the name of a reputable practitioner in your area.
