York City manager Terry Dolan confirmed today veteran midfielder Neil Redfearn has turned down a loan move to Bootham Crescent.
With Christian Fox and Kevin Hulme both out for the remainder of the season and Lee Bullock still short of match fitness the Minstermen are in urgent need of midfield cover.
The experienced Readfearn, who boasts around 750 senior appearances, is currently out in the cold at Second Division Wigan Athletic after signing from Bradford City for £112,500 last March.
However, while Dolan was keen to sign the former Charlton and Barnsley midfield general Redfearn, whose contract is up at the JJB Stadium at the end of the season has indicated he is not looking for a loan move.
"He doesn't want to come so that is the end of the matter," said Dolan.
