Bishopthrope have done it again. The York and District Leeper Hare League side have stunned Wearside League team Stokesley to make it through to the semi-finals of the North Riding County Cup.
As reported in the Evening Press, the Bishops had mistakenly entered the competition which they had previously believed was too high a standard for them. But a 4-3 victory over the Wearsiders sees them into the last four alongside fellow York area outfit Nestl Rowntree of the West Yorkshire League.
David Allinson is pictured by Evening Press photographer Garry Atkinson blowing a pretend trumpet in celebrating his goal which drew Bishopthorpe level at 1-1.
