Joe Lister, of Tadcaster Swim Squad, triumphed on his competitive debut when he won the 50 metres butterfly at the York Graded Meet at the Edmund Wilson pool.
He was also second in the 100m individual medley, fourth in the breaststroke, and gained a speeding ticket for exceeding the cut-off time in the backstroke.
Six of the squad of 16 representing Tadcaster were nine and ten-year-olds making their competition debuts.
Kristian Stafford gained a fifth-place medal on his debut and Simon Fenton swam a promising individual medley race.
Grace Lawes, Jessica Walker, and Kara Johnson also showed promise with good time in their events.
In the 13 year age group, Adam Milner was first in the butterfly, second in the freestyle and individual medley, fourth in the backstroke and fifth in the breaststroke.
Samantha Poulter recorded three personal best times including a good freestyle swim.Carl Johnson achieved a second and third and two fourth placings, the first time he has gained top six finishes in an open gala.
In the 11-year-olds' section there were top six finishes for Chloe Carter in the butterfly and James Webster, who took third in the freestyle and sixth in the breaststroke, while there were two pbs for Matthew Fiddler from his two swims.
Kerri Wands,12, had three pbs , and Naomi Boynton and Clare Pugh continued their improvement by returning good times in their events.
Ben Walker posted five pbs from his five swims.
New Earswick swimmers were also in action at the meeting and won five gold medals, three silver and one bronze medal and gained two speeding tickets.
James Richards, 13, won five medals from five swims with gold in the 50 metres freestyle and 100m individual medley, silver in the 50m backstroke and butterfly and bronze in the 50m breaststroke.
Nicola Howlett won three gold medals in the 14 years age group for her 100m medley, 50m butterfly and breaststroke swims, and a silver in the 50m freestyle event and she set five personal best times.
Jenna Howlett won a silver medal in the 11 years 50m freestyle and achieved a personal best time in the individual medley.
Three ten-year-olds swimming in their first ASA meet did well. Jennifer Welsh just missed out on two golds by swimming too fast by a fraction of a second in the 50m freestyle and breaststroke races but she gained two speeding tickets instead.
Marcus Patterson won a fourth place medal in the 50m butterfly and Emma Beall swam three pbs. Also achieving pbs were Emma Thompson, 11, and Daniel Thompson, 13, with two each, and Emily Broadbent, 12, with three new times.
