Police are hunting a man who attacked a 15-year-old schoolgirl on a riverside path in York.
The girl was walking along the path next to a stretch of the River Ouse near Clifton Bridge when the man approached her.
He asked her for the time but when she told him she did not have a watch he grabbed her by the wrist and tried to drag her towards a wall.
The terrified girl managed to break free of his grasp and ran home. She was left shaken but unhurt.
The man was described as being aged about 40, 5ft 11ins to 6ft, medium build, with short, light-coloured hair.
He was wearing a black waterproof jacket, which had a white logo on the left chest area, and blue jeans.
He struck at about 9.30pm on Tuesday.
