New Earswick had an excellent win in their Yorkshire County League game beating Redcar 117-63.
Anthony Scruton, Rod Walker, Brain Chapman and Ralph Tiplady found themselves 24-4 in front after 12 ends at Redcar and only took their foot off the pedal toweards the end before wrapping up an emphatic success
The other away rink of Bob Edwards, Bill Waldie, Barry Johnson and Tony Taylor gave their hosts a 13-0 start, too much to claw back as they lost 27-15.
At home Gary Bunce, Paul Dawson, Ken Lippett and Dave Birch must have thought Christmas had come early leading 18-1 after only six ends en route to a massive 41-10 victory.
In the other home rink Ray Clark, John Snowdon, Kevin Fort and Harry Rhodes had another convincing 27-17 win.
The overall excellent performance enabled New Earswick to pick up 12 points to Redcar's two.
In section 'A' of the same league, York again perished to bogey team, Hull, who took three rinks to one for a 77-71 scoreline.
The only success for York came at Hull where David Stroughair, Mal Harrison, Graham Brooke and Graham Instone had the edge on their way to 19-15 win.
In the other rink at Hull Mick Parker, Dave Hewick, Barry Walker and Dough Mitchell narrowly lost 18-17.
Even on home territory their disappointment continued with Iain Boyle, Michael Bruce, John Walker and Duane Kellett leading 5-4 after six ends only to eventually lose 25-17.
The other home rink of Paul Mooring, John Emmerson, Fred Clayden and Russ Barton countered from 10-5 down after seven ends to go 18-15 up with three ends to play.
But then they lost all three - and ultimately the game - 19-18.
York's haul of four points to Hull's ten leaves them needing to produce a spate of ood performances if they are to make the final in April.
