Rillington roundup
THE ploughing match went ahead on December 10 by kind permission of Mr Bower, Scagglethorpe. The weather was good, and there was keen competition in all classes. The competition attracted over 60 entries.
On December 18 and 20, we went Christmas carol singing around the Rillington area. Both evenings were well attended by members. Thanks to Mr and Mrs Clarkson and Mr and Mrs Webster who kindly provided us with supper at the end of each evening. In excess of £140 was raised for charity.
On Wednesday, January 10, the programme for the new year began with a social evening hosted by Kirkbymoorside YFC. The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all members, many thanks Kirkby!

Ploughing match
HELMSLEY YFC are holding their annual ploughing match on Sunday January 28 at 10am between Sproxton and Helmsley on the A170 Thirsk road, on land kindly loaned by Mr F Mallory.
Classes for vintage trailed/mounted, open conventional/reversable and conventional match ploughs. Low loader parking on large lay-bys close to field and in Helmsley 500 yds away. Entry £4 on the field and there will be a raffle and many good prizes.

Helmsley YFC is holding its dinner dance on Friday Febuary 2 at 7:30pm for 8pm. The venue is the newly-refurbished Helmsley Town Hall and our guest speaker for the evening is Mr Robert Goodwill of Terrington.
