Four goals in the second half saw Pickering Town march into the quarter-finals of the Northern Counties East League Wilkinson Sword Trophy with a 4-1 defeat of Tadcaster Albion last night.
But it took a disputed penalty to set them on their way after Albion had taken a first-half lead through Steve Batley, who charged down 'keeper Adam Mitchell's clearance.
Adam Wash took advantage of a Kevin Gilks mistake to equalise just before the hour. Five minutes later won the disputed penalty which Joe Connor scored.
Substitute Pat Gaughan set up both Richard Dale and Stefan Zoll to make the game safe and give the scoreline a flattering look as Tadcaster pushed men forward towards the end.
The two goals sandwiched a red card for visiting captain Lee Maguire, who was sent off for two bookable offences, the second of which resulted from a bad challenge on Gaughan, who suffered suspected ligament damage in his knee.
