AFTER the messy conclusion to the battle to run the National Lottery, it is refreshing to be reminded of the positive side to the game. Today Strensall & Towthorpe Sports Association is celebrating an award of more than £200,000 from the Sport England Lottery Fund.
With another £100,000 from Hogg The Builder and help from several other sources, the association can start work on a new sports pavilion and floodlit games area.
Much credit should be given to those who worked on this successful bid. They have secured new facilities that the community will enjoy for many years to come.
