Acomb Ladies, in their first game back in Yorkshire League division X, were held 1-1 by Lockwood Park.
The visitors held a one-goal advantage at the interval at Huntington School, but in the second half Acomb continued to press and a quickly taken free hit from Danielle Courtine set captain Kerry Rafton free in the area and her fierce shot went past the Lockwood 'keeper to draw Acomb level.
Acomb had further chances to score and had numerous short corners but could not get a winner. Any attacks that Lockwood had were dealt with by a strong Acomb defence, with Gemma Hall in the midst of the action.
Meanwhile, City of York Ladies II returned to action in division two of the Yorkshire League with a deserved 4-2 win at Harrogate II.
In a flurry of goals just before half-time, Karen Howells gave York the lead from a penalty corner. Harrogate equalised moments later, but Rachel Messias promptly gave York a 2-1 advantage with a shot from the edge of the area.
York went further ahead through Sue Draper after the break and, although they allowed Harrogate to score again from short range, York had much the better of the second-half.
The final and best goal of the game came from a move started deep in defence by Katy Longbotham and carried on down the middle by Messias who set up Dawn Hopkins for an emphatic finish.
In division seven, York III lost narrowly, 1-0 to York University.
Goals by Jayne Leckenby and Sam Chambers gave York Olympics a 2-1 victory over Stamford Bridge.
Captain Helen Taylor was Olympics' player of the match.
