Acomb returned from a 160-mile round trip to top-of-the-table Lincoln with a 3-1 defeat.

One point behind Lincoln in Yorkshire League division one, Acomb were given a tough game.

Lincoln started better and took the lead when converting a short corner.

Acomb had a chance to equalise when good work from Nick Linfoot set Jamie Robinson free one-on-one with the Lincoln 'keeper. Robinson went round the net-minder but his goal-bound shot was deflected over the bar.

Lincoln doubled the lead shortly before half-time when they robbed Acomb of possession.

Acomb managed to pull a goal back from a short corner, converted by Stuart Baxter.

They went all-out for the equaliser with Robinson a constant threat. But Lincoln held out and hit Acomb on a quick counter for a third goal.

Acomb III fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Slazengers in division XX.

Acomb soon found themselves two goals in arrears after Slazengers capitalised on sloppy defending. Acomb pulled a goal back before the break through Richard Flanagan.

Acomb would have gone in level but for a disallowed goal but did equalise through Alan Feetenby. Only poor finishing prevented them going ahead.

Matthew Gray played well but in the last ten minutes of the game, man of the match Bill Heywood made two outstanding saves.
