Haxby Town continued to set the pace in division one of the Leeper Hare York and District League with a fine 2-0 win at Thorpe United.

Lee Tutill opened the scoring midway through the first half when he latched onto a corner to volley home a powerful shot.

Ten minutes later Ben Drummond added the second when he latched onto the rebound after the Thorpe 'keeper had saved a Jon Machin header.

Nestle Rowntree moved into second place thanks to a 3-1 win over St John's College.

Barmby Moor played their first home game for two months and looked in command for most of the first half, with visitors Civil Service content to try to play on the break.

Barmby stepped up the pressure in the second half but Rich Kenyon put Service ahead. Ten minutes later Kenyon made it 2-0 with a low shot from 20 yards.
