I AM surprised to see, yet again, an Evening Press reporter having a cheap jibe against the bollard in Stonebow (Do you fancy a new career? January 10).
Let's get this right once and for all, the bollard was put there for one reason - to catch cheats who want to take a short cut. What is so wrong about that? Well done to City of York Council.
If those motorists who have collided with the bollard can't see the half dozen or so signs leading up to it, then they shouldn't be on the road.
