THE first year of blockbusters, art flicks, popcorn and floods is over for York's City Screen.
The £5 million arthouse cinema is celebrating its anniversary after a delayed opening last year.
In an eventful 12 months, the state-of-the-art picture house in the former Yorkshire Herald press building in Coney Street has been closed by the swollen Ouse and fought and lost in court over plans to bring alcohol drinks into cinema screens.
It is now open again and looking forward to a successful 2001.
