TOM BENTLEY says it is often said by us mere mortals, about politicians, that they never listen (Letters, January 8). He says they don't have the sense they were born with and most of us could do a better job (January 8). Not many of us could do a better job, because not many of us have the qualifications to become a good MP. Qualifications required:
- To be a good talker;
- To be as stubborn as a mule;
- To be stone deaf;
- To have the ability when required to convincingly tell a little porkie.
I do think they have the sense they were born with (but no more than that).
