Mary Reveley, who completed a first and last-race double at Wetherby yesterday, heads to Ascot tomorrow in search of much more prestigious spoils.

Fresh from her successes with Bramble Fair and Konker, the Saltburn trainer saddles Function Dream in the £60,000 Victor Chandler Showcase Handicap Chase.

A much-improved performer since joining Reveley from Ireland, Function Dream has won four of her five starts this season.

Her biggest triumph came at Wetherby on Boxing Day when he trounced a useful field to clinch the Castleford Chase by 13 lengths from Davoski.

Still on the upgrade, Function Dream has only a 4lb penalty to carry tomorrow and looks capable of doing so with distinction under Anthony Ross, who has struck up such a good rapport with her.

Brian Ellison also heads to Ascot, where he will be represented by Fatehalkhair in the SpinRoom.com Novices' Chase.

The Norton trainer has placed his prolific winner to gain no fewer than 10 successes over jumps, all gained at Sedgefield, the latest coming on Boxing Day.

Tomorrow's Grade 2 opposition will be considerably tougher, but Fatehalkhair is a talented performer, who looks to have sound prospects in the hands of Richard Johnson.

The Gerrard Tolworth Hurdle, rerouted from last week's abandoned Sandown meeting, opens the Ascot card.

This £20,000 event looks a good opportunity for Valley Henry to complete a hat-trick of wins, Paul Nicholls' gelding having won both his previous starts in the style of a high-class horse.

Also worth noting are In The Blood (3.05), who made such a promising return to action at Cheltenham, and the progressive Cimarrone Cove (3.35), who earns the Nap vote as he seeks his third win off the spin.

The principal northern action tomorrow is at Newcastle, where the Cantor Index 'Dipper' Novices' Chase takes pride of place.

Ballinclay King, trained by Ferdy Murphy, makes most appeal in this £25,000 event after winning two of his three races this season in fine style. Furthermore, he hails from a stable which sent out Streamstown to win the feature race at Wetherby yesterday.

Norton trainer Malcolm Jefferson, whose Tullymurry Toff was runner-up to Streamstown, can go one better with Dibea Times in the Cantor Index Juvenile Novices' Hurdle.

A winner in France, Dibea Times underlined his massive potential when scoring over this course and distance on his British debut last month. A follow-up looks on the cards.

Laundry Lady's Lad takes the eye in the Cantor Index Handicap Chase over three and three-quarter miles.

Jonjo O'Neill's gelding scored his latest success over an even longer at Market Rasen on Boxing Day and is a dyed-in-the-wool out-and-out stayer. His forte should stand him in good stead tomorrow.

O'Neill can also score with Follow Me, winner of his last two starts, and poised to complete a hat-trick after a mid-winter break in the Cantor Index Handicap Hurdle. Liam Cooper, good value for his 3lb allowance, rides the O'Neill pair.
