THE Ministry of Agriculture will hold a seminar for livestock farmers at the Fox and Rabbit Inn at Lockton on January 18, starting at 7.30pm.
The purpose is to explain new schemes that have been introduced recently and the rules relating to them. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions. The schemes to be covered included: Sheep tagging, Extensification Payment Scheme, Countryside Stewardship Scheme, Slaughter Premium Scheme and Hill Farm Allowance Scheme.
The seminar will be of particular interest to livestock farmers on the North York Moors, but farmers from farther afield will also be welcome to attend. Any farmer interested should simply turn up. This is one of a series of such seminars being held by the ministry around the region. The next one will be on January 25 at Stirton, near Skipton.
