York's Stuart Bryan produced the bowls nationals' most dazzling performance to beat Thornaby's Mark O'Riordan in the men's under-25s singles play-off final between areas 3 and 4.
Playing Ryedale IBC Bryan took a 14-0 lead after only seven ends before his opponent scored a two. This was to no avail with the York bowler easily winning the game 21-4 to secure a place in next month's national finals in Nottingham.
His opponent in his first game will be the winner of the areas 16 and 17 play-off game - either Craig Doughty (North Wiltshire) or C Hall (Perdiswell, Worcestershire).
An exciting game took place in the mixed pairs at Ryedale between Alexis and Tommy Nairn against New Earswick's Gill and Ray Clark, who were trailing 11-6 after the 11th end and then 15-8 after 15 ends.
They looked to be on their way out of the competition, a revival stymied as they trailed 17-12 with three ends to play.
However, another four on the 19th end reduced the Clarks' deficit to only one and then on the ninth end the New Earswick pair scored a three to topple their deflated Ryedale rivals 19-18.
There was another close game at York IBC in the national father and son competition where Paul and Andrew Mooring were playing against Selby's Quainton pair.
The home duo were in command leading 9-0 after only four ends, and 18-9 after 17 ends before the Selby pair countered strongly, the Moorings relieved to win 18-17.
In the men' over 60s pairs York's Fred Claydon and Alan Storey had came from 11-11 to win 16-11 victory at Huddersfield over opponents Harris and Harrison.
New Earswick's chairman, Barry Johnson in tandem with Bob Edwards beat Selby's Birch and Sharp 29-18 victory. They will play Storey and Clayden in round five.
