This advert shows that nothing is quite as dependable as a Volvo...except, perhaps, an Evening Press reporter.

The car manufacturer is using last week's crash on the A59 to sell cars, but Volvo's picture also shows newshound Natalya Wilson on the scene gathering information for our readers from a police officer.

The driver of the car had a lucky escape on December 20 when a 57-ton locomotive on its way from Skipton to London slipped off the back of a lorry and slid down the road, crashing into a car.

Volvo's latest advert, shown in a number of national newspapers on Christmas Eve, shows a Volvo sports car crashed into the back of the lorry and the slogan "Hope the Train's OK".

Natalya said: "When you go out on a story you don't usually think you'll end up in the national newspapers.

"Luckily I didn't see the advert on Christmas Eve or I would have thought I'd had a few too many sherries.

"It was tipping it down that night and I looked really bedraggled so if anyone recognises me in the street I think I'd better get a facelift."

At the bottom of the advert it reads: "A 60-ton train fell off the back of a lorry and rolled 25ft before being stopped by a Volvo. The Volvo's got a few dents. The Volvo driver hasn't".

As reported in the Evening Press massive disruption followed the crash on the A59 in Harrogate after the low loader carrying the brand new Swiss-made track-laying unit shed its load.

The lorry was going up a hill on Skipton Road through the town when the engine slipped its chains, according to a police spokesman. It is understood that one of the chains snapped.

No one was hurt in the accident, although the drivers of the car and low-loading lorry were shaken.
