A film about the chaos of Christmas was the inspiration for festive charity decorations adorning a house in Tranby Avenue, York.
Janet Goodrick and her husband, Roger, spent more than six hours putting up about 1,000 bulbs on the display, which she jokingly claimed was erected "to annoy the neighbours".
She got the idea from the decorations in the Chevy Chase film National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
Janet has also put a charity bucket outside the house to raise money for both SNAPPY and Community Base.
"My son, Steven, attends both charities and I'd like to try and raise some funds through our decorations," she said.
"I don't know if I am going to do this again next year - it is a lot of work."
She also has a Christmas tree and other lights covering the rest of the house.
