I READ with interest James Kilner's and Rebecca Gilbert's article on the strict measurers being adopted by City of York Council on clamping down on illegal parking within the streets of York (December 14).
While I do sympathise with residents whose lives are made a misery by inconsiderate parking, I wonder if there is any chance of part of the considerable revenue being collected by this council being diverted to the protection of legally parked cars, particularly within York's extortionately-charging car parks?
Both my wife's and son's cars have been vandalised in car parks during the last couple of months.
