A casual remark more than a year ago by Easingwold Golf Club member Grace Harrison led to the recent completion of a Millennium memento in the form of an embroidered picture.
The surrounding mount has been signed by 92 members of the Ladies Section and, within a border of oak leaves and acorns, the cross stitch picture depicts some of the flora and fauna which can be found on the course, as well as a map.
The centrepiece is the club emblem worked in gold thread on Thai silk, a delicate job carried out by Joan Clark. Other ladies involved in the project were Sylvia Bedingfield, Mary Dawson, Diana Madden and Mary Robinson.
