York RI Rugby Union Club's Under-14s lost 34-12 to Doncaster in a cracking game at New Lane.
Ferocious rucking by the home forwards led to Joey Burns romping in for a try on his debut.
Despite fierce RI pressure, Doncaster led at half-time through tries from Daniel Rogers and Wesley Halton.
RI were the first to score after the break when prop Josh Binns broke from half way to score under the posts. Burns tagged on the conversion.
Doncaster's outstanding skipper Jonathan Stuart then stamped his mark on the match, converting his own try, then scoring a second to put Doncaster 22-12 in front.
Doncaster maintained the upper hand through tries from Ben Jones and right on the whistle Andrew Page with Stuart converting with the game's last kick.
