I SUGGEST that Heather Causnett (December 12) misses the point of my letter (December 9). I am not against a children's playground. As a parent, grandparent and a ex-Scout leader, I agree that children always have and always will take part in potentially hazardous activities.
My concern is that the proposed site has been the subject of many criminal activities. The police know of at least three in the past six months which include attacks against the person.
Also speaking as a pharmacist, the essential spraying by the farmer and racecourse committee, while causing only transient distress if inhaled by healthy people, can be highly dangerous if inhaled by asthmatic children.
