York City will need to put on a Madejski performance tonight if they are to add their name to the list of FA Cup giant-killers this season.

The Minstermen travel to Reading's Madejski Stadium for a round two replay with the prize being a money-spinning trip to Premiership surprise package Leicester City in the third round next month.

Additional motivation to overthrow the Royals came when Reading boss Alan Pardew warned that City had better raise their game to avoid a cup battering, as his side had not played well in the first game at Bootham Crescent last Saturday.

Dolan replied: "Everyone will be up for it, especially as Reading have said we had better be - we will have to accommodate them, won't we. The players know what the incentives are."

"City had deserved to win the first tie at Bootham Crescent but in the end needed a David McNiven strike and an Alex Mathie wonder-goal to force a replay after a thrilling 2-2 draw.

However, Dolan did not see it as a missed opportunity.

"If you are 2-0 down after 50 minutes or so, you are happy to get back in it and get another crack. Having said that, we did have one opportunity to snatch it but did not take it."

City will have to show the same spirit as in that game - and better finishing than in the 1-0 defeat at Plymouth on Saturday - if they are to enjoy a trip to Filbert Street and a brief look at the Premiership promised land.

Reading, flying high in Division Two, have been beaten at home only twice this season, although one of those defeats was by City's Division Three rivals Leyton Orient in the Worthington Cup, and the Minstermen will be gunning to leave their hosts red-faced again with another cup shock.

But Dolan warned: "It was tough enough last week but if you look at their home record you know it won't be any easier this time."
