A woman has died after her car collided with a central reservation and was left upside down overhanging a roundabout.
The accident happened on the northbound carriageway of the A1 as it passed over the junction with the A659 at Boston Spa, near Tadcaster.
The driver, believed to be aged about 50 and from London, is thought to have lost control of her green Ford Galaxy people carrier, which then collided with the central reservation.
Nobody else was involved, but the accident, which happened early yesterday, caused long delays.
West Yorkshire police are urging witnesses to contact them on 01924 293029.
