Watch out Whitney - a Malton woman is after your crown as queen of the divas after winning a hotly-contested karaoke competition.
Anita Ospedale won through several heats to come top of the pops in the Bright Steels Social Club charity karaoke.
The contest was organised by club regular Richard Scarth, in memory of his late brother, John, known as 'Banjo'.
Anita, of Sycamore Avenue, sang two tunes in the final, the first a version of songstress Tina Arena's hit Live, the second Etta James's classic, I Just Want to Make Love To You.
Bubbly Anita said singing was in her blood, and she got her confidence from singing in friends' cafes and bars in her native Italy.
She said: "I sing at church every week, I sing around the house, I just love to sing, and though I wasn't going to enter the contest at first I knew it was for a good cause and so I had a go."
Anita's next singing date is on December 22, when she will entertain old people in Malton's Rainbow Lane Centre.
