I was shocked and saddened to read Mr Taylor's letter about his views on euthanasia (December 6).

It is obvious that Mr Taylor has never had to deal with someone who is terminally ill, and very obviously suffering, with no hope of recovery.

How can euthanasia be murder if a person just wants to slip away with dignity and wants to end their suffering? Death is a part of life isn't it?

I am sure many women who have had to have an abortion for, whatever reason, would be extremely upset at being called murderers by Mr Taylor.

Isn't it murder when certain civilisations leave baby girls on hillsides to die because they simply aren't baby boys?

Euthanasia will always be a very controversial and emotional subject, each case has different circumstances and common sense must prevail. Yes, life is the greatest gift of all, so let's work to stop pollution that can cause these horrific cancers in the first place. It is up to the human race now.
