Retired York psychiatrist Dr William Kerr was this afternoon found by a jury to have indecently assaulted a former patient.
Dr Kerr, 75, of Alne, near Easingwold, was given an absolute discharge by Judge Arthur Myerson QC and also placed on the sex offenders' register for five years in respect of the attack on the woman from Ripon.
The jury at Leeds Crown Court acquitted Dr Kerr on two more allegations of indecent assault, but was unable to reach a decision on two allegations of rape and 10 of indecent assaults.
Dr Kerr had previously been cleared of two further rapes and two other indecent assaults.
The jury was discharged and excused from further jury service for 15 years.
The Crown Prosecution Service said it would consider its position over the outstanding charges and return to court later this week.
