YORK City today bagged another home draw in the LDV Vans Trophy when they were paired against Shrewsbury.
However, to earn the right to face the Shrews in the second round of the northern section of the competition they first have to see off another basement club, Darlington.
Already the clash against the Quakers has been postponed twice because City's Bootham Crescent pitch was water-logged. It is hoped the first round tie will be played early in the new year.
Victory over Darlington would then pitch manager Terry Dolan's men back on home territory for a clash against Shrewsbury, coincidentally the last League opponents to visit Bootham Crescent.
That showdown was just a fortnight ago when City triumphed 2-1 courtesy of a late winner from midfielder Kevin Hulme.
The second round ties are due to be played on January 8-10, but City may struggle to meet that timescale.
The full LDV Vans Trophy draw is: (northern section) Lincoln City v Blackpool, Bury v Kidderminster, Port Vale or Notts County v Chester, Hartlepool v Doncaster, Halifax v Stoke City, Chesterfield v Macclesfield, Walsall v Oldham or Wigan, YORK City or Darlington v Shrewsbury; (southern section) Hereford/Yeovil v Reading; Millwall v Swindon, Leyton Orient v Wycombe, Brighton v Brentford, Bournemouth v Swansea; Southend v Cambridge; Bristol Rovers v Plymouth, Peterborough v Barnet.
