AN OUT-of-school club to entertain youngsters of a York village is expected to get the go-ahead next week.
Dunnington youngsters have asked City of York Council for permission to build new premises for their club in the grounds of Dunnington Primary School.
It would be shared by the village's playgroup, which serves children from three-years-old to school age.
The out-of-school club is used by youngsters of primary school age.
Both already exist in the village, but need new accommodation.
Sue Egginton, office manager at the school, said: "I think the groups have applied for funding for the building, and they are trying to get permission from the council to build it."
Council planning members will discuss the proposal on Tuesday.
And they have been recommended by officers to accept it.
Concerns from neighbours have been raised about parking problems, noise and disturbance. The school is also based in green belt land.
But planning officers state that the application has provision for extra parking, and hours of use will be limited during the evening.
Chris Newsome, the council's development control officer, said: "Officers are, on balance, able to support this application."
