I SYMPATHISE with your correspondent Karina Reed (December 12), who reported waiting up to an hour and a quarter for a bus from Stonebow to Rawcliffe, and frequent unreliability of the service.
From maps, I have estimated the distance of her journey between Stonebow and Howard Link to be approximately two and a quarter miles via the city centre, which could make a pleasant cycle trip through the Bedern area, past the Minster, and take around 15 to 20 minutes.
I realise that some people cannot, or will not, contemplate cycling, but this would seem an eminently suitable distance to commute by bicycle, immune to traffic congestion and unreliable buses.
It would offer health and wealth benefits as a bonus.
