Police are searching for two men who mugged and assaulted a teenage girl near a busy York car park.
The incident occurred at about 6pm on Wednesday as the girl walked towards the Coppergate Centre from the Clifford's Tower area.
Sgt Colin Ventress, of York Police, said: "She was approached by two males who asked her if she wanted to buy some drugs.
"They then pushed her to the ground and took her rucksack off her back. They stole cash and bank cards, but left the bag behind.
"They then attempted to steal a ring from her finger but failed, and kicked her in the stomach before running off."
The first man is described as white, stocky, in his late 20s with ginger hair and stubble on his face. He was about 5ft 9in tall, and wore a woollen cap.
The second attacker was 6ft with dark brown hair in a ponytail and a goatee beard. He was very thin with prominent cheekbones. He was wearing a blue duffel coat with fur around the hood and an orange lining.
Sgt Ventress said: "There must have been several people in the area at this time who witnessed this attack and we would ask them to come forward and provide us with any information they have."
