Sessions 'A' now have a good lead in division one of the Focus Fireplaces York and District Table Tennis League after an 8-2 win over bottom team York RI 'C'.
Andrew Nicholls and Mick Willcockson were unbeaten for Sessions, Richard McCarthey and Tim Smith won one each for RI. Richard Crowther and Trevor Wright were unbeaten for RI 'A' in their 9-1 win over RI 'C'.
Fulford Road WMC 'A', joint second, beat York RI 'B' 6-4. Vic Smith won all three for RI.
Doug Bartle's three wins helped York RI 'B' draw 5-5 with Coneysthorpe 'B'.
Poppleton 'B' beat Fulford Road WMC 'B' 6-4. All the Poppleton players won two each and Ed Wardman won all three for Fulford.
INL 'B' went joint second after beating their 'C' team 7-3. Martin Hood won all three for INL 'B'.
Bootham CC 'C' went down 6-4 to Nestl Rowntree 'A', Dave Simpson taking all three for Nestl, but in the next match they overcame British Telecom 'A' 10-0.
British Telecom 'A' did better when they entertained Poppleton 'C', drawing 5-5. Mark Hughes again won all three for Poppleton.
The local Nestl derby went the way of the 'A' team over their 'B' team 6-4. Dave Simpson won all three for the 'A' team.
In division three Northern Electric have a slight lead at the top, which was maintained with an 8-2 win over Terrys. Graham Perrin won all three for them. Poppleton 'D' had to settle for a 5-5 draw with Coneysthorpe 'C'. Eddie Prest played well for Coneysthorpe to win all three.
Sessions 'C' kept up with the leaders, beating South Bank SC 8-2, Richard Kendall and Ian Stevens each won three. Richard Day won the two for South Bank.
Shepherds 'A' found Bootham CC 'D' too strong, going down 9-1. Graham Hood and Adam Exley won three games each.
Poppleton 'E' beat York RI 'E' 6-4, RI conceding two games due to Norman Smithson being injured while playing Joanne Somers.
Fulford Rd WMC 'C' go into the halfway break with a 13-point lead.
The top three teams did not play last week. Poppleton 'F' and York RI 'G' finished all square at 5-5, Simon Moss winning all three for Poppleton.
Alan Richards won all three for Nestl Rowntree 'C' in their 7-3 win over York RI 'H'.
Geoff Leafe was unbeaten as York RI 'G' beat York RI 'I' 7-3. Elaine Gears had a good win over Richard Leafe 21-19 21-19.
Clubs are asked to play all outstanding matches caused by the recent high water levels before Christmas. Clubs with any difficulties should contact Clive Warley as soon as possible.
